Under 13's triumph at Canterbury Mini Tournament (Sunday 1st April)
The under 13's made up for the disappointment of narrowly missing out on qualification for the Regional Championships a few weeks ago, with an outstanding performance at Canterbury's Mini Tournament on Sunday.
The format was a round robin with seven other teams, the games were 12 minutes one way. The boys came away with the winners' trophy, having been unbeaten all day, scoring 26 goals, conceding none and only having to defend 2 short corners during the whole tournament. The Canterbury Manager commented during the winners' presentations that "these guys were AWESOME today."
Results were:
Seveonoaks 0 BromBeck 1
(a shaky start)
BromBeck 5 Old Loughtonians 0
(A great game against a strong side)
Brombeck 3 Tunbridge Wells 0
(Fantastic team performance)
Canterbury B 0 BromBeck 9
(How to play hockey and take all your chances)
Canterbury A 0 BromBeck 4
(Not a popular win with the locals, but we enjoyed it)
Ashford 0 BromBeck 1
(Getting a bit complacent and still on high from previous game)
Herne Bay 0 BromBeck 3
(Tournament was already in the bag, but still played great hockey)
A great TEAM performance from the whole squad, who were:
Tom Martin (GK)
Dominic Coe-O'Brien
Ryan Mason
Ollie Fishlock
Rob Farrington
Jamie Brooker
Ed Tate
Chris Barnett
Anthony Brown
Well done Boys (Can't mention all the goalscorers, because I lost track)
Roger Farrington
Under 13 Coach (on the day)
