Weekend review 2-10-06
OK here's a new feature of the site, following my cry for help last week, Colin Couldrey has kindly offered to write weekly reviews and previews of the section. If you would like to get your team a mention email Colin at : reporter@brombeckhc.co.uk , here's this weekend's review :
So the first weekend with a full fixture card saw mixed results all round. The Men’s 1’s built on the result last week with a good 3-1 win down at Exeter Uni, giving them the 2nd spot in the league. Unfortunately the Ladies 1’s weren’t able to build on last weeks win – with an unfortunate loss at the hands of Wisbech Town. The Ladies 2 progresses to 2 wins from 2 with a 4-2 win against Stevenage, leaving them sitting in 3rd. The Men’s 2’s playing there first game in the London Premier found the going tough with a 3-0 loss over at Old Loughts. The 2nd round of the mens HA cup was played on the Sunday – over at Oxted and with the squad filled mainly with 2nd XI players the game went right to the wire with BromBecks holding out for the win and progression into the next round.
This weeks fixtures at the top end of the club see the Men’s 1st’s at home to Oxted on Sunday , 13.30pm push back at Langley Park. On Saturday the Ladies 1st’s are at home to Canterbury – also at Langley – push back being 2.00pm – please come along and lend support wherever possible. The men’s 2’s are also at home hoping to bounce back against Spencer, a team that we lost to in the pre-season – lets hope the tables are turned this time around! The ladies 2's are on the march hoping to make it 3 from 3 - away at Gore Court.
Good luck to all that are playing this weekend.
Over and Out.
