The Reporter - weekly update 10/10/06
Ok – so the third weekend of the season is out of the way and to be honest it could have been better at the top of the club! Both our 1st teams dropped points at home, the ladies against Canterbury 2’s and the men’s 1’s against Oxted – who seemed to be a slightly tougher opposition than in the cup game the week before. The men’s 2’s collected a point against Spencer at Ravensbourne and the ladies 2’s came good against Stevenage, which resulted in the first win of the year, 4-2.
This week see the men’s 1’s taking the ‘long way round’ the M25 to Indian Gymkhana, I’m sure the game will be as friendly as ever. Following last Sundays game in which we were out gunned on our own turf – support for this one would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure there are enough people driving over so anyone wanting a lift - get in touch.
The ladies 1’s are away to Tunbridge Wells at their Hawkenbury Rec ground starting at 1.30, once more any support much appreciated. The ladies 2’s are home to Hertford at Fortress Langley starting 12.30 and the men’s 2’s have an early game over at Hampstead and Westminster with a 12.00 push back.
I’ve kept it short this week as I’ve had no info from anyone regarding other teams, Captains of any team - if you would like a mention here, please get in touch early in the week and I’ll write you in.
Captains (or anyone for that matter!) let me know if you want anything mentioned – good performances or bad, moments of madness – pretty much anything, let me know - reporter@brombeckhc.co.uk
