Another mixed bag of results this week, the ladies 1’s back to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 win over ….. but unfortunately couldn’t beat a good St Albans side in the cup on Sunday, they have a home game at Langley Park this Saturday against Chelmsford 2’s starting at 2.30pm – Support would be most welcome.
The Men’s 1’s had a reasonable result on Sunday away to Indian Gymkhana (never an easy game) in which the final score was 2-2. following a last minute equaliser from Nick Bluett to level it up. Special mention to Adam Kitch (travelling supporter), who drove an hour to the game watched for 45 seconds and then spent the rest of the afternoon in the A&E with Antony Pike – who had taken a ball in the face. Thanks for coming along Kitch! This week sees a coming together with Ipswich on Saturday at Langley Park, 12 o’clock pb for those supporters that are able to support. Obviously the game being on a Saturday – means that the guys will be allowed to booze on Saturday night- a idea that will no doubt be grasped with open arms!
The L2’s travel to Sevenoaks this week, following a 1-1 draw with Hertford on Saturday, a game in which we had a lot of possession before going 1 down in the first half (from what I saw, which wasn’t much!). M2’s had a difficult game last week away to the league winners of last year Hamp & West. We had out a strong team on the day and still lost 4-2, just showing the general strength of the London Premier league. Keep with it boys the positive results will start flowing soon. This week is an equally tough ask home to Reading 2’s and a team that have already beaten H&W this year (I think?). On the bright side (maybe) we are playing them at Ravensbourne at 11.45, so the early start, long journey and home advantage pitch play into our hands.
I thought I’d mention the M3’s as I haven’t heard anything from the other skippers about the weekends results – we had a home fixture with H&W 3’s, a team who are a good side and were up there last year – 3-1 win to BromBeck, thanks very much – safe journey home! Man of the Match going to Dom Jones, the youngster’s first game in the team, out of position and had a stormer!
I’ve had no reports of any shenanigans in the evenings – apart from myself that is (and any I cant remember that much anyway!) and a first young 1st team-er out boozing most of his counterparts on Sunday night after the game
If you want me to mention any thing/gossip/bad behaviour etc – let me know!
Also skippers – if you want a mention in the weekly reports email early in the week and I’ll include you here.
Don’t forget – we are bringing back Hi-Tec, so get them on!
Peace Out...
