The Christmas Party

My sincere thanks to Wakers, Tara and their team for all the hard work in putting on the fireworks party. We sold over 200 tickets, and made a profit for the section of over £750. This is a fantastic effort, and helps self fund our section. I mentioned this at the clubs general committee meeting last night and the chairman and treasurer asked for their thanks to be passed on - so well done all !

The team's next event will be the Christmas Party, on Saturday the 3rd of December, £5 entrance, with disco, bar promotions, and drinking games !!

Following the success of our previous fancy dress parties, this year will be a team theme. We are encouraging all teams to come up with a theme for their own team.

Tickets from Robbie, Tara, team captains and behind the bar.

Ben's Funeral

Ben's funeral was last Wednesday at Beckenham Crematorium. A very moving service with contributions from Joe, Gemma, and Liz Key. The service was very well attended, followed by refreshments at the club, which attracted around 200 people. Thanks to all who donated towards the tree and bench in Ben's memory which will hopefully be installed in the new year.

Collection for Ben

Many of you have already donated towards a memorial tree and bench in Ben's honour. If you have not yet had the chance to do so, and would like to, you may donate over the bar at the weekend, speak to Nevil, Mike Bluett, Emma Shepherd or myself. Alternatively you may leave a cheque to BCC, and the club will organise the donation for you.

Arrangements for Ben's funeral

Joe has asked me to let everyone know the details for Ben's funeral. The service will be at Beckenham Crematorium (Elmers End Road, Beckenham BR3 4TD) at 1.30pm next Wednesday (the 9th).

Joe and Gemma have also asked that as this is a celebration of Ben's life they would prefer brighter colours rather than black ties. They have suggested either bright shirts, club ties or something similar.

All are welcome, Joe has asked for family flowers only. Therefore we are arranging for anyone who wishes to make a donation towards purchase of a bench at Foxgrove in Ben's memory may do so via the club .

After the service refreshments will be provided at the club in Foxgrove Road for those wishing to attend. There will be an opportunity to make a donation towards the bench in Ben's memory at the club.
