Junior Opening letter

Thanks to the organisation of the the junior section and the office, hopefully all juniors should have received a copy of the opening letter, together with a renewals form. We have sent out over 400 letters, which gives some idea of the strength of the combined junior section.

If you haven't received a copy, it is likely that the details we have for your family are incorrect. Please advise the office, on 020 8650 0266, or clubmanager@beckenhamcricketclub.co.uk .

Here is a copy of the letter, in word format, and as a PDF document.

New Fitness Coach

If you have attended on a Monday night you will recognise our new Fitness Coach. James has agreed to help throughout the coming season with the fitness of the whole club. This is a quote from our ladies "I know its sad but I actually quite enjoyed it last week – although not a good show from the youngsters – come on girls! The trainer is quite fit – if that’s an added incentive."

Junior Coaching

I'm working with our Junior Chairmen (Chris Swan and Chris Rule) as well as our hard working pitch secretary Phil Sheehan to publish details of Junior coaching .e.g. times and dates, and hopefully will have this information for you early next week.

Sponsorship

As I mentioned at the AGM, we're in the process of working up some new sponsors for the new club. Following their first season last year, I'm very glad to announce that Patricks, everyones favourite beckenham pub are extending their sponsorship this season. Their logo will appear on team shirts, and some additional kit.

The Ashes

Well I'm not sure how many of you are into your cricket, but I've been fascinated by the Ashes this year, regardless of who you're supporting, it's been fantastic competition.

It seems to me that the sides are closer that most expected. I think luck has been the deciding factor, with it mostly going Australia's way at Lords, and almost entirely our at Edgebaston (McGrath injury, Ponting choosing to bowl, etc.) Anyway can't wait for the next game to start on Thursday.
