Ladies 1s versus Chelmsford
Bromley and Beckenham Ladies 1s vs Chelmsford 2s, home, league, Saturday 17th November 2007
Lost: 0-3
A defeat to Chelmsford on Saturday has resulted in BromBeck slipping to eighth in the table…. Only 2 points away from the relegation zone but also just 3 points away from 3rd place… it’s extremely close! Even though it’s far too early to start talking about promotion and relegation, we have to learn that to succeed in this league we need to make the most of domination in games and to convert our chances…this is exactly what we failed to do on Saturday. For once we started the game well and had 2 great chances to score in the opening few minutes, both of which were well saved by the Chelmsford keeper. Unfortunately this was a sign of things to come and despite being in control for the vast majority of the match, Chelmsford scored on the very few chances that they had, and we didn’t, despite having several more opportunities to do so. To be fair, the Chelmsford keeper had a stormer and it wasn’t for a lack of trying on our part. We just need to learn to be more ruthless in front of goal and focus at all times in defence in case of a quick break away! Sounds simple doesn’t it! Next week we travel to bottom-of-the-league Ipswich, where hopefully we can get back to winning ways.
