Ladies 1s versus Wisbech Town
Saturday 5th October away
Score: 1-0 won
Scorer: Emma Greenway
Bromley Beckenham went into the game against Wisbech Town two defeats to the wind and really needed a strong performance to ensure that the start of the season wasn't as catastrophic as a Mount Vesuvius eruption. The first half saw a strong performance, with the Bromley Beckenham defence driving the team forward and playing the majority of the first half in the Wisbech Town part of the pitch. Player of the match, Lydia Greenway making some superb tackles and initiating good passing movements. The score at half time remained nil - nil due to some uninspiring 11 man defence play from Wisbech Town.
The second half saw some good play down the right hand side of the pitch with Tasch Zupekermit linking with Sophie Davies culminating in a short corner opportunity. The ball was driven out and stopped superbly by Ms Tara Woodwood (Princess) and then shot as quickly as an arrow leaving a tight bow to the right hand side, where Emma Greenway (Ratty) with superb eye to ball co-ordination lifted it, almost defying the laws of gravity, like a bullet into the roof of the net. Job done, Bromley & Beckenham first win of the season.
