UNDER 11S MATCH REPORTS
Bromley and Beckenham HC under 11 A team have started off the season as the Beckenham HC u10s ended the last - undefeated.
Brombecks hosted our first junior hockey tournament of the season in October with mixed under 9s, u11 girls and u11 boys playing against Wimbledon, Surbiton and Richmond. Our sheer weight of numbers means we are looking to Surrey as well as Kent to provide enough matches for our junior teams.
Bromley and Beckenham u11 boys results were:
Won against Wimbledon 8-0
Won against Surbiton 4-0
Won against Richmond 7-0
Squad Goals

Our next outing took us to Oxted for one of the under 12 mini triangular tournaments organised chiefly in Kent. This time we were able to field 2 teams of under 11s whilst at home we hosted a tournament and fielded a further 2 teams of under 12s! The under 11 A team won all their games whilst the B team did not fare as well they put up a brave fight especially considering several team members had picked up a stick for the first time this September!
A team: B team:
Peter Mears Bradley Coonan
Tomek Edwards Fintan Stewart
Benedict Kelleher Matthew Gorvett
Oliver Syvaniemi Edward Tidball
Jamie McCulloch James Lane
Andrew Tromp James Slonina
Luke Forryan Aiden Spinks
Alex Dugan Zackary Youssef
James Hall
Finally on November 13th we hosted a tournament for Marden and Maidstone. Unfortunately, Maidstone could not field a team, so Brombecks and Marden joined forces to provide a fourth team to enable the tournament to run smoothly. Once more the u11 A team were unbeaten and the most encouraging fact of all to emerge from the tournament was that the Brombecks B team put up the stiffest opposition to the A team. Congratulations to all those who played:
Tom Martin, Matthew Davies, Benjamin Bezant, Alex Davison, Jamie McCulloch, Alex Dugan, Bradley Coonan, Peter Mears, Matthew Abbett, Zachary Youssef, Benedict Kelleher, Luke Forryan, Shaafe Ullah, Tomek Edwards, Andrew Tromp, Aiden Spinks, Oliver Syvaniemi, James Mozeley, Willliam Goodall, William Griffiths, James Hall, Matthew Gorvett.
A team results:
won 4-0 versus Marden As, 7-0 versus Brombecks/Marden mixed team, and 3-0 versus Brombecks Bs
B team results:
Won 2-1 versus Brombecks/Marden, drew 1-1 versus Marden As and lost 0-3 versus Brombecks As.
A very promising start to the season which has been matched by the under 12 boys. Unfortunately, an open Surrey tournament, which would have seen us pitted against the best teams and schools in Surrey had to be cancelled on Sunday 20th November because of a frozen pitch. We await the rescheduled tournament with great anticipation.
Finally, a big thanks as always to all the coaches and parents who brave the elements every Sunday at 9am to support their sons be it at training or matches in the depths of Kent.
